"...Love the exception"?

Love is never the exception. Daytime soaps seem to capitalize on that. It is just depressing watching soap operas slowly build to a "once-in-a-lifetime relationship"...like each new bud of romance will blossom into a rose that will persevere through any tribulation. But after the bloom, winter crushes all hope for a true romance you can count on. I swear you finally get a hook-up and the writers are trying to find a way to make it not work, to bring in a new interest or reignite an old flame. For example, you have John (mr. dark vampire) and Marty (formerly party marty but just plain marty right now with memory) they finally are able to be intimate. Marty has finally let go of her weird connection to a guy that raped her and committed to John. John finally left Blair. But wait. Now John is on a new case. We all now how distracted John gets on cases. And poor Marty isn't the victim this time, and we all know that John tends to fall for the D.I.D. (sorry not Jessica with dissociative identity disorder, I am talking about the damsel in distress--Natalie).

Wait! Natalie? Not poor red-head girl who grew up in a trailer park! She is happily married. She has Jared. Hang on. Sorry, Jared is John's new suspect in the stalker case. Maybe we might have a love confusion thing in the future.

Now I am not saying we are going to have to watch Natalie and John try to make something of a pool game that happened forever ago. But I think the writers might go that way. Then we can have another on again off again couple. Lets re-cap, we have Todd and Blair (which will eventually get back together), Bo and Nora, Viki and Clint, why not add Natalie and John?

Then we have my total descendants that follow the same trajectory. There are no life long couples, in daytime soaps, the best you can hope for is on and off again. Can you imagine if reality was like that, "oh he is my on and off again...don't touch"..?

So a song plays "if nothing lasts forever then what makes love the exception?" well according to daytime TV love can spring forth, whither, and die. But it can also be manipulated for a later date to bring up ratings. So if you have recently lost someone, cheer up, he or she could be your on and off again making your life so much more dramatic and watchable.

fast forward

EEEWWW!! Thank the makers of dvr's. Fast forward through the icky parts. Someone just shoot Stacy Please! They should warn viewers about content possibly making you puke. How can we ever look at Rex the same?

Who is the mystery man who is the true donor? What if, and really I'm just tossing this out there, what if he's Victor Lord back from the dead again. Or Asa with a new face?

Music Sets the Tone

Okay, so what was up with the sexy-time music during the Ryan and Erica scene? You know when he was kissing her good-bye on the cheek. Are the writers really hooking up Erica with some guy that will always morn Greenlee? Erica will never be able to handle Ryan's true love blah blah blah (besides we all know Greenlee is being held hostage by Dr. Pharmaceutical and his plain-jane nurse somewhere in the country). But maybe the writers are trying to figure out some kind of weird/intense love triangle. Plus, only Erica can take out soul mates. It is what she had always done.

Then the music switched to some dorky running off into the sunset with your lonesome dove when Annie kissed Adam (yuck yuck). I can almost handle Erica dominating Ryan, but Annie is too weird and is missing something. I mean both Erica and Annie are manipulative, getting what they want. I wish I knew how Erica did things in the seventies. Was she more like Annie.

Well, in the end I have noticed you can figure the soaps out if you just listen to the music or watch the small things.

Thanks for the correction. Bee, really.

A pox on Brainiacs who check all facts! (we can add that to the poet tree)
Brainiacs
Who check all facts.

Who cares if I was a year or so off. January 1970 is only one month maybe even only one Day! from 1969. I never meant to imply I knew for certain. When I moved from the east of the state to the west I had graduated Kindergarten. Maybe we only watched General Institutions at that time in the beginning. Check it out for me you, you, (what Kevin called Fred) lol. Then I will know because you will make sure to correct my misinformation.

Also you're missing the point of it being Adam. Oh the tragedy if Adam killed his twin, the only person who always forgave him and helped him out of all the trouble he gets into, and helps him make peace and navigate his way back to some kind of normal. Shakespeare would be proud.
Besides I really can't take Erica in prison orange again. And if Kendal goes in, even in orange if she turns sideways she'll vanish. I would be bored if the writers can't get more creative than that.

Had about enough

I am getting kind of tired of what shall I call it? My total descendants? I mean I to am sick of the stew murder. Probably because it brought Annie together with Adam. Yuck! She is icky. But I disagree with Deb. It wasn't Adam. I mean, how can Adam kill his life long buddy with a smile? Well maybe she is right. But I am putting All My Cookies on Erica. She had the dirty shoes and was at the mansion. She is a she-devil that Erica.

Now I haven't watched the show as long as Deb. (Come on, I wasn't around during the sixties or seventies and some of the eighties) but I have a knack for sleuthing. Yet then again, I have only watched the show very little. It started out with my baby sitter in the fourth grade. She loved it. Anyway Erica Kane all the way...
P.S. I have it on source that AMC didn't debut until january 1970.....

Adam Did It

Adam did it I just know it. He was still drugged by Dr. Pharmaceutical Evil Genius/ I want a baby. So while Adam can't really remember what was what he has enormous guilt. You know, more than usual. Why else help Lunatic Anny other wise? He's afraid she knows something. But I could be wrong. I've only watched them since 1965 when I was in 1st grade. My Grandmother watched all three shows on one channel. I still watch two. My daughter is named after Tara who was Erica's Nemesis back in High School for those of you not so long in viewing time.

Also Cry'n Ryan needs to get over it!

next show........Dorian way to drink!
